Rev. Sara Hubble - Co-Interim Pastor
Sara has served as co-interim pastor since February 2022 and loves worshipping with the family of faith at MHBC. Additionally, she serves as the Operations and Pastoral Director at CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center, the summer camp and retreat ministry of Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia. Sara and her two dogs, Tobias and Jethro, adore their home and community in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Amherst County. Sara is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling program at Gardner-Webb University. She holds a Master of Divinity in Biblical Interpretation from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from Bluefield College. She is passionate about proclaiming the love of Jesus and investing in the faith formation of children, youth, and young adults. Her favorite things are time spent with friends and family, strong coffee, a great book, and warm days outside!
Rev. John Moxley - Co-Interim Pastor
John has Pastored Virginia Baptist Churches for over 20 years in Yorktown, Norfolk and most recently the First Baptist Church of Dillwyn. In 2021 John transitioned into Hospice Care ministry as Hospice Chaplain where he enjoys sharing the love of Jesus to patients and families during their time of need. John grew up in Pintlala, Alabama where his home church’s Pastor of over 50 years continues to serve. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University; a Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond; and is completing a doctoral thesis. Rev. Moxley loves movies and music, and plays the bass guitar for a local rhythm and blues band. He is happily married to Kristye Moxley, a High School English teacher. They have two children, Leah, and Eve. John loves the church and is grateful to serve as co-pastoral interim at Madison Heights Baptist Church.
